Wanqin means gentle sounds from the plucked seven-string oriental instrument for 5000 years. Born and raised in Nanning, Guangxi, China, she started learning drawing at age 6, under two Professors from Guangxi Arts Institute, and developed her artistic sensitivity to color, graphics, light, shapes, layout and typography. With 28 years of visual art foundation, she specializes in compelling aesthetic power for innovative impact and elevating brands to higher dimensions.
Sophy Wanqin Nong is an artist at heart. Her greatest passion is to create things that have not yet existed in the world.
︎ She believes only a simple but powerful story with layers of profound meanings can reach the limits of human experience, create indelible feelings, move hearts, vibrate souls, and transcend time!
She is also keen to experiment with the latest technologies and emerging trends, and has deep interests in Topological Art, Computational Design & Thinking, Psychology & Spirituality, and Buddhism.
Immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 2007, she graduated from School of Visual Arts in New York City double majored in advertising & interactive design in 2011. Her instructors include Richard Wilde, Carin Goldberg, Gail Anderson, Olga Mezhibovskaya, etc.
